Summer tournaments 2016

As the season's coming to an end attentions change to focus on the summer volleyball tournaments!  We've listed a few of the most popular ones below.  A full list is available (including the beach tournaments) on the Volleyball England website.  If you are running a tournament and it's not listed here, but you think it would be of interest to the Riga players, send us details via the Contact Us page and we'll add it!

 

 
Riga tournament - Sunday 10 July - The popular Riga tournament.  Played in a relaxed atmosphere, this year it will be held at a new venue at the University of Warwick.  6 x 6 teams can be mens or mixed or women all playing together in the same competition.  To enter use the Contact Us function on this website.  Team entry will be £30 per team. Ashcombe - 25 to 26 June - With a mix of formats to suit everyone Ashcombe is a well run tournament which sits outside the immediate tournament season so is a good warm up event.  Full details and how to enter is available on their website.

Sandwell - Sat 2 July - A local one day tournament (in Birmingham) which is heavily supported by teams in the West Midlands region.  It's a 6 v 6 tournament with mens, womens and mixed divisions.  If you are interested in further details get in touch via the Contact Us button and we will forward you the entry brochure.


 
Sandbanks - ????? (2 and 3?) July - A longstanding tournament which has a 4 x 4 beach tournament alongside the VEBT.  Full details and how to enter is avaiable on their website.

Bridlington - ??? (9 and 10?) July - Another 4 x 4 beach tournament on the beach in Bridlington.  Weather always seems to shine for this one along with the after party in the resident nightclub. Full details and how to enter is avaiable on their website.

Whitefield - 16 to 17 July - One of the most popular summer tournaments - this year to be held at Bristol (rather than the traditional Bath Rugby Club). The divisions are fully booked for this year's tournament already (that is how popular it is!).  Full details and how to enter is avaiable on their website.

Cambridge - 6 to 7 August - Been on the tournament scene for a number of years, the Cambridge tournament is a 6 x 6 grass tournament played at Cambridge Rugby Club.  Full details and how to enter is avaiable on their website.

Gloucester - 20 and 21 August - A new format to the old traditional Gloucester tournament.  It is now a music festival with a bit of volleyball and some other sports also available as part of it.  Full details and how to enter is available on their website.

Richmond - August bank holiday (usual date not yet confirmed for 2016??) - Closing off the summer tournaments prior to the new season is the Richmond tournament which is held over the August bank holiday weekend.  Full details and how to enter is avaiable on their website.
