It is a "Comedy of Errors" for Riga ladies last game

On the 400th anniversary of Shakespeare's death the ladies host Newcastle Staffs in the final game of this season.  In fair Alan Higgs, where we lay our scene, the two teams met and in the warm up were both alike in dignity.  Powered on by a Purple play list in honour of Prince.

Riga won the toss and served first. Clare's serving put Riga into an early lead but Staffs fought back and soon levelled the score. A strong run of serves left Clare wondering O Riga, Riga wherefore art thou pass?  Strong attacking from Mim and Sylwia kept Riga in the set but Staffs took it 25-21.

Into set 2 and Riga were quickly 4-0 down. Jon called a time out and declared a pass! A pass! My kingdom for a pass!  Riga delivered and sided out but the course of true love never did run smooth and Riga were 13-4 down as Jon called another time out as he asked himself is this a dagger which I see before Me, the handle towards my hand?  Alex came on and with renewed determination fought Riga back into the game with Sophie setting up some great attacks. But Staffs took the set 25-17.

To be or not to be: that is the question for set 3. Clare served the first point in the net.  Off with her head shouted Jon! Riga pressed on with good attacking from Hannah and Sophie and Netti sweeping up the pass. Riga took a 16-8 lead. But when Staffs serves come, they come not single spies, but in battalions as they served 8 in a row to put themselves back in the set and went on to win the match 25-22.  What's done is done.

The girls headed out afterwards for dinner as an end of season celebration.  Good Night. Good night! Parting is such sweet sorrow, that I shall say good night til it be next season.
