Coventry & Warwick Riga is proud to announce that it has been awarded the Clubmark accreditation.  Clubmark is Sport England's national accreditation scheme for high quality community sports clubs and stands for higher standards of welfare, equity, coaching and management. It shows that we, as a Club, provide the right environment which ensures the welfare of members and encourages everyone to enjoy sport and stay involved throughout their lives.

Accreditation involved the Club going through a rigorous assessment process where we were tested against 24 separate criteria.  The committee submitted various documents and information about the Club to the Sport England assessors for them to review and approve.  We then hosted one of the assessors at a West Midlands training session at Bablake so that they could see first hand Nick's coaching in action and meet some of the members to get a proper feel for the Club.

The feedback was excellent and we were particularly highlighted for having "a pathway of training sessions", being a "Club that is willing to support the internal development of volunteers" and a "Club has a welcoming feel"   Nick's session was described as "differentiated based on ability level of players and all participants were enjoying the session and active throughout".  A massive thank you to the West Midlands ladies for letting the assessor visit their session to help us get the accreditation.

Clubkmark is the replacement for the old Volley 1,2,3 model which Volleyball England previously run.  We would really recommend the process to other Clubs.  It helps ensure all your governance elements are in place and the assessor from your local sports partnership can offer ongoing help and support with some of the challenges you may be facing as a Club - so its a great way to help build your local network too.
