This year's AGM was held at the Varsity, University of Warwick at 8pm on Thursday 20 July.  A round up of all the action is set out below!  As we go into the 2017/8 season the committee is, as always, happy to hear any feedback you may have so that we can continue to help all members achieve their volleyball potential!  You can contact the committee via the Contact Us form on this website.

The AGM started with recreational volleyball.  The morning had seen Monsoon weather but the evening started off with a few showers followed by beautiful sunshine over Coventry.  We divided into three teams and played each other in a round robin tournament.  There was plenty of banter and lots of excellent play for everyone attending!  Great fun to play volleyball to the music as the sun faded and a perfect and fitting end to the 2016/7 season.

But as we head into the 2017/8 season then we moved to the AGM at the Varsity to get down to business!  An important change for us this year was an update to the Club's constitution to bring it up to date and into line with recommended best practice.  The changes were passed by the members so this sets us on an excellent foundation to move forward.  Following reports from each of the existing officers setting out the successes of the Club and each of its members then the main decision points were reached.  It was decided that:-

- West Midlands ladies would have a separate game night to their training night to avoid missed training when they had games.  The games will be on Sunday evenings at 6pm.  This would also help with away team travel.

- To facilitate this WM ladies and the NVL men will swap training sessions (WM ladies to train on a Thursday and NVL men to train on a Tuesday).

- WM ladies subs would be adjusted accordingly to reflect the extra sessions.  A simplified membership form will be used for 2017/8.

- We will buy some more balls to top up the mens number to 12.

- Mim presented Sophie Zillmann with the NVL womens Division 2 MVP trophy for the season which is awarded by Volleyball England - well done Sophie!

- Ginny presented Clare Francis with the President's award - recognising Clare's contribution to the Club over the last 12 months - the Presidents award is new for this year reflecting Zano's kind donation to the Club.  It will be awarded each year to a deserving Club member recognising their contribution.  Ginny also praised other Club members who were equally deserving including: John Boughton (for organising Club nights and the annual tournament); Chris Jones (for keeping the mens team going in the face of adversity!); Jon Chetham (for helping with lots of the teams and winning Coach of the Year!); and Sophie, Lewis and Chris N (for all their refereeing).  A massive thank you to all our volunteers - we couldn't do it without you!

The following committee members were elected:-

- Chairperson - Ginny Rennie

- General Secretary - Hannah Dodd

- Treasurer - Clare Francis

- NVL Mens secretary - Chris Jones

- NVL Ladies secretary - Miriam Anderson

- WM Ladies secretary - Hannah Dodd

- Club Welfare Officer - Julie Bromell

- Club Development Officer - Position Vacant

A massive thank you to all the outgoing officers and welcome on board to the new officers!
